Volunteer Profile: Chris & Heather Kane
How many years have you participated/volunteered with Coast to Coast events?
Chris – This will be my third year. Heather- 2 years
What kind of roles have you been part of as a volunteer?
Between the two of us – Inside ride volunteers, Inside ride organizers, 24hr spin volunteers, Tour for Kids volunteers (As = ride marshal, daytime aid station, night time food station, road side bike support, medical team, set up & break down of the “tent village”, fashion show model, anything else Lori needs)
Why did you decide to volunteer with Coast to Coast?
I came to the CTC team as a planner with Investors Group. In my very first meeting with the CTC team I learned about what these kids go through and it move me so much that I was brought to tears. The CTC team are some of the most giving people I have ever met doing great things for kids who just want to be kids.
Why is Tour for Kids an important event for you?
The Tour is hard work for everyone regardless if they ride or not. Each time it is amazing to see the drive, commitment and energy that is put forth for the kids and for the cause. Having a chance to listen to the testimonials in the morning and evening really drive home how much of an effect we can make when we work together. The CTC team is truly an amazing group of people and I feel privileged to be part of that team.
