What an incredible start to Tour for Kids Ontario 2010! With cyclists in record numbers this year, including over 500 cyclists and raising over $1 million for kids with cancer!

After some inspirational words from our fearless leader, Jeff Rushton, we heard some words of encouragement from Chuck Ealey, of Investor’s Group, Tour for Kids’ presenting sponsor. Chuck spoke of the impact that childhood cancer has on families and the importance of raising awareness to the leading cause in childhood deaths.

We also got to hear from Trevor Campbell, a survivor of childhood cancer and a camper and counselor at the camps directly benefitting from Tour for Kids’ involvement. Trevor is the son of one of amazing volunteers, Karen Campbell, and he spoke of how important the camps were to him growing up.

As we kicked off Tour for Kids, we had a few moments to reflect on the importance of why we were here: to help support children and their families living with and beyond cancer.
