I reconnected with cycling in the spring of 2003 after retiring from the sport of rugby.  I immediately regretted all those years in the gym trying to bulk up!  Slowly after many years of riding I have shed a good deal of the rugby weight but still tip the scales well above the average for a cyclist (yes, I now obsess about losing weight not gaining it!!!).  However I’ve not let that stop me and take to cycling with a passion.  Just this fall I tried the cyclocross version of cycling and was instantly taken by it.  I have a mountain bike too and every time I ride it I wonder why I would ever want to ride on the road again.  However, the road is where my passion for cycling lies.  Riding solo with only my thoughts, or in a group chatting for hours, road cycling is now a part of my lifestyle.  The fact that I can use a part of my life that I am so passionate about to help others is incredible.
