National Rider Call to Action!
We are in the advanced planning stages for the 2011 Sears National Kids Cancer Ride and we would like to invite you and/or others you know to join us in the journey all with a goal to maximize participants and, in turn, maximize the funding we will provide for childhood cancer research and support programs in pediatric oncology hospital units across Canada.
This cross country cycling adventure is a journey like no other. Participants will have a unique opportunity to see our great country from coast to coast, and along the way interact with hundreds of communities to raise awareness and inspire others to make a difference in the fight against kid’s cancer.
To give you a better sense of the event here are a few links to the videos from previous years:

We have exciting new options this year that should make for a challenging yet inclusive event. The options include:
- First, be a National Rider for 16 days in September 2011 by cycling across Canada in support of the cause. As a national rider you will have two different options:
o Ride 100-120 kms per day at a pace of 25-28 km/hr
o Ride longer distances of 200+ kms per day as a team at slightly faster pace
- Second, form a National Relay Team compromises of two to seven members each riding 100-120 kms per day for two or three consecutive days before “passing the baton” to a team member and returning home
- Third, be a volunteer for the event
- Fourth, be part of Ride Along events in Vancouver, Toronto area, Montreal or Halifax
- And finally, tell others, be they riders, volunteers, or corporate sponsors and ask them to participate in one of the ways above

We are looking to give cyclists from across the country the opportunity to join this epic adventure. We hope to finalize the 2011 national team by April 1st for the September event, so if you are interested in joining us or finding out more information please let us know. We would love to have you.
If you are interested in participating or can help us spread the word and support the fight against kid’s cancer we would love to have you join us.
