back
to dedications
Dillon
submitted by his parents Ila and John
Our son just celebrated his 6th birthday May
25th and has been battling
cancer since he was 1 year old. He relapsed and had to have a
bone marrow
transplant two years ago and wasn't expected to survive for more
than 2
years. We just passed that marker and are obviously grateful for
every
day.
His full story and pictures can be seen at www.geocities.com/bashcancer
Edmonton and Calgary TV stations followed his story to help raise
awareness for donors.
This
picture was taken just days before we found out the cancer was
back and spreading quickly.
This picture was taken when he finished chemotherapy
induction for second time (6 mos of treatment) and he had lethal
chemo the following month in order to kill his own bone marrow
to prepare for transplant of the donor bone marrow.
This is Dillon a year after transplant and much
how he looks today. If he's smiling, we can all smile.
We will let friends and associates know about your journey and
encourage
people to support. Good luck and please let us know if you do
use Dillon's
picture and we will post the information on his web site if ok
with your
group.
