Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation

Making a Meaningful Difference in the Fight Against Childhood Cancer

And a Few Words from some of our Beneficiaries

“The Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation’s two  multiyear gifts in 2010 have meant that while we’re helping over 4,000 kids in Ontario today, we’re also thinking about helping them thrive in the years to come”

Corin Greenberg,
Executive Director

Vanessa Yakobson,
Managing Director, Development & Strategy

Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO)

“When you called to talk about your donation for this year I couldn’t believe it. It was the greatest Christmas Present Camp Trillium has ever received...I hope your donors understand the impact of Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation’s work. By taking the approach that you need to support children living with cancer from diagnosis, through treatment and onto survival, you are doing an incredible thing. You are saying to those children we are here for you every step of the way. No one organization has ever done that.”

Marci Shea-Perry,
Executive Director

Camp Trillium

“With the continued support of Coast to Coast Against Cancer, Alberta children and their families will no longer have to face cancer alone. We are grateful for your continued dedication to fighting this disease and for our extraordinary passion in  making life a little easier for children with cancer.”

Christine McIver, CEO
Candice Martin, Manager, Community Initiatives

Donation Report

In 2012, Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation ('CTCACF') celebrated a truly amazing year, raising and distributing over $5,000,000 for deserving childhood cancer charities across Canada! We just couldn't have done this without you, our amazing sponsors, donors, volunteers, and participants.

Together this year, we have visited hundreds of communities across the country, engaged over 15,000 participants in our events, worked with hundreds of volunteers and processed over 75,000 individual donations. Together, we have collected millions of dollars for childhood cancer and distributed 100% of every single donation we raised to the cancer charities we support across Canada. Together, we have made a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of children and their families living with and beyond cancer.

Highlights of 2012

  • Reaching our 10 year milestone with $25 Million raised and distributed to childhood cancer programs from coast to coast!
  • Raising and distributing $6 Million for childhood cancer in 2012 alone!
  • Donating $1 Million to pediatric cancer centres in Canada (16 of them!) and in every province of the country!
  • Making a $1 Million donation to the new Pediatric Oncology Research Floor at Toronto Sick Kids Hospital in conjunction with Jenna’s Angels (as part of our $2 Million commitment)
  • Selling out events for Tour for Kids Alberta and Ontario, and continued success with the 2012 edition of the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride
  • Adding new 3rd party events like the very successful Bike for Tykes ($220K raised) along with the continuation of other great 3rd party events such as Ride for Karen, Bal de Neige, Longboard for Kids, Golf for Kids and many others
  • Setting new fundraising records of over $2.4 Million for our Inside Ride and National Inside Ride events, with a record breaking $300K raised at the Edmonton NIR event alone
  • Continuing to be the principal or major donor to many of the childhood cancer camps in Ontario, Alberta and Atlantic regions
  • Making a significant financial commitment to support families undergoing the devastating financial burden of living with the battle against this disease though financial and other assistance programs programs from St. John’s NL to Victoria B.C
  • Funded a variety of other childhood cancer programs that will have a significant impact on kids well-being and survival
  • Distributing 100% of all our donations for 2012, as well as a significant portion of our sponsorship dollars, unheard of for a organization of our size and scope!

Since we began 10 years ago with a couple of dedicated cyclists crossing the country to raise money for cancer, Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation has raised over $25 million to support charities across Canada that collectively help children across this country fighting this devastating disease.

To that end we will be looking to improve, increase and expand our existing events such as the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride and Tour for Kids Atlantic, increase our footprint in Quebec through partnerships with new and existing sponsors and local charities, introduce exciting new events such as KM for Kids, and enhance our support and commitment to 3rd party events which continue to grow and make important contributions to helping achieve our goal to reach a “destination beyond cancer.”

Our Volunteers and Sponsors make it possible for us to achieve our 100% donation distribution model. 2013 will see a renewed effort to improve both our volunteer and sponsor programs to ensure that we can continue to operate as efficiently and effectively as possible. Expanding our sponsorship base, especially at the Foundation level, is critical for our sustainability and continued operation at the national level. We call on all of our supporters to help us in this effort and welcome any ideas or suggestions to make 2013 our best ever year!

We look forward to seeing all of you at our events in 2013. Until then from all of us and the 10,000 families across Canada living with kids cancer we want to thank you for all you did to make a difference in 2012.
